Event Description: This spring, Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) are revealing the reality of the U.S. occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan. In what will be history's largest gathering of U.S. veterans of the "war on terror," as well as Iraqi and Afghan survivors, eyewitnesses will share their experiences in a public investigation called Winter Soldier: Iraq and Afghanistan (http://www.ivaw.org/wintersoldier). To help fund the operation of the Winter Soldier conference, the Houston chapter of Veterans for Peace is hosting a fundraiser featuring local musicians at Dan Electros Guitar Bar at 1131 E. 24th St. in the Heights 3-7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23.
