HPJC Awards Banquet with Fr. Roy Bourgeois of SOA Watch
Event Description:
The Houston Peace and Justice Center invites you to attend their annual Awards Banquet, fund raiser, and gala.
This year's national Peacemaker Award recipient and keynote speaker is Father Roy Bourgeois, founder and guiding spirit of School of Americas Watch http://www.soaw.org
Local awardees will also be recognized for their leadership and dedication to peace and justice work. They include:
* Amy Branham, Gold Star Mother for Peace
* Ray Hill, Community activist and radio show host
* Ernest McMillan and Omowale Luthuli, Advocates for inner-city youth
We hope you will join us this evening in honoring these very worthy participants, in enjoying a great dinner, in getting to visit with other peace and justice activists from our area, a dance afterwards, and helping to keep HPJC financially secure.
This is the annual fund raiser for the Houston Peace and Justice Center, and provides a large percentage of the funds needed to carry on HPJC's important work in this area.
Houston Peace and Justice Center is now accepting reservations for the awards dinner.
Tickets are $60. As always, there will be subsidized seats, so don't feel priced out. To reserve, send check payable to HPJC to P.O. Box 66234, Houston, TX 77266.
