House Party at Crosier's for James G. Pierre, Charles Waterbury, David Van Os

Oct 21 2006 - 7:00pm
Oct 21 2006 - 11:00pm

Event Description:

Cheryl & Bill Crosier, and Don Cook, invite you to a fund raising house party for:
* James G. Pierre, Democratic Party candidate for Harris County Clerk
* Charles Waterbury, independent write-in candidate for Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court
* David Van Os, Democratic party candidate for Texas Attorney General

James G. Pierre http://jamesgpierreforcountyclerk.com was the Harris County head of Election Protection, the national organization which documented discrepancies in the 2004 election. If you believe that W stole the election in 2004 as well as 2000, James thinks you may be right. He has made verifiable elections a main point of his campaign. In opposing the current Harris County Clerk, he is running against someone who still argues that computer voting machines are great and adding paper verification will just cause them to jam up!

Charles Waterbury http://waterburyforchiefjustice.com is a candidate for Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court. He is a progressive immigration lawyer who, in his 13 years of practice has become concerned with how justice is meted out in Texas. Charles is fed up with those who would purchase justice. He wants to make the courts accountable to all, not just the highest bidder, and reclaim them from the insurance companies and special interests. Charles is the only progressive candidate running against the current Texas Chief Justice. There is no Democrat running for this position. Charles' name will not be on the ballot but he has filed as a write-in candidate, so his name will be posted at each voting machine and you can enter his name manually when you vote.

David Van Os http://vanosfortexasag.com , in his 30 years as a lawyer for labor and laborers, has fought for the rights of thousands of working people, for civil liberties, and for the Constitution. Today, when Texas has fallen into the hands of the corporate interests to the extent that they run the government like a private club where the price of admission is big campaign contributions, he is determined to return the political process to all the people as Texas' next Attorney General. He has pledged to go after the big oil companies and insurance gougers, among others, when he's elected. David also will be in Houston on Wed. Oct. 18 (see http://paa-tx.org/node/2389 for his speech outside the courthouse, and http://paa-tx.org/node/2390 for the dinner/meet & greet), and will not be able to attend our party except by speakerphone.

Donations
You do not have to donate to attend, but please come hear James, Charles, and David and find out what they propose to do: to work for us rather than the big corporations, to restore election integrity, and to strengthen rather than weaken the Constitution. They are interested in hearing from you, too. Be sure to bring your check book or some spare cash. We're confident you'll want to help, with a monetary donation and/or by volunteering in one of the campaigns for these excellent candidates.

Children are welcome to come.
All of you are welcome to stay and visit, even after the candidates leave.

Other candidates are welcome to come, too.
