Book Exchange
Interested in sharing some interesting books, with other activists? Join the book exchange that Charlie Mauch has started. It's free, and makes it easy to get some great books that you may have trouble finding in the library. Begin with the list of books listed below. If you see something on this list you would like to borrow, please send Charlie an email to and tell him which one(s) you want. Let's limit it to two books per person to begin with and see how it goes. Charlie will make a list of who requested which books to use as a sign-out sheet and will bring the books and the sign-out sheet to the Fourth Friday Flicks meeting which will be on January 26th. Then each person can pick up the books they ordered and initial by their name on the sign-out sheet. The books can be returned the following month, or possibly after two months, but that should be long enough. If this works OK, hopefully others will submit a list of books they have that they would be willing to loan out, and we will have them also posted on the website. Send your list of books that you'd like to share, to Charlie at Each person's books would be listed under their name, and if you want to read one (or two) of them, please email that person so they can bring the book(s) you want to the next monthly FFF meeting, and send a cc of your email to Charlie so he can add your name, the books you want, and the owner's name to the sign-out sheet for the next meeting. The owners should write their name in the book (or use a sticker of some sort if they prefer) so we can keep track of who owns what. I do not think we need elaborate rules on how to do this. Most people are honest but despite good intentions some books will be lost and some people will just forget to return them repeatedly so do not lend out any that are really valuable or have sentimental value or whatever, since they could be lost and we cannot be responsible for them. Please advise if you have ideas on how to improve on this system. ______________________________________________ Books offered by Charlie Mauch, e-mail : Ackerman & Duvall A Force More Powerful Alinsky, Saul Rules for Radicals Baer, Robert See No Evil Sleeping with the Devil Barsky, Robert Noam Chomsky - A Life of Dissent Blum, William Killing Hope Rogue State West Bloc Dissident - A Cold War Memoir Butler, Gen.
