Event Description:

Community In-Power Development Association, CLEAN, and others invite you to Port Arthur, TX
September 29th for:

"VX WASTE - What's Next?! Rally for Environmental Justice!"

Why?

- Because the U.S. Army is shipping waste derived from VX Nerve Gas, the most lethal chemical on the planet
- Because Ohio and New Jersey rejected this waste, which led the Army to sign a secret contract to ship it from Indiana to Veolia’s hazardous waste incinerator in Pt. Arthur
- Because this incinerator has no VX monitors to detect if VX is being emitted from the smokestacks into a community already inundated with pollution from the surrounding refineries
- Because it's against federal law to ship this material across state lines
- And Because Port Arthur is a poor minority community- the VX Waste shipments violate the principles of Env. Justice

Join us September 29th at 1:00 pm at Carver Terrace Park in Port Arthur to focus attention on this reckless and unjust activity.
