Event Description:

Held in Austin the previous seven years, organizers decided to hold it in Harris County this year because this county sends so many people to death row, more than any other state save Texas itself.

The theme of this year's march is 'Celebrating Our Victories, Remembering Our Losses; Continuing the Fight for Abolition!'

Speakers will include two men exonerated and freed from Texas death row— Clarence Brandley and Kerry Max Cook.

March will kick off at 2 p.m. from Emancipation Park, 3018 Dowling Street. It will conclude at SHAPE Center, 3815 Live Oak, where the rally will begin at 3:30 p.m.
