New Year's Eve
Party for Peace

Join other peace activists for an evening of relaxation,
friendship, and gathering strength for the new year.

It's safe to talk politics at this party! Other conversations are welcome, too, of course.

We are inviting our friends in the Progressive Action Alliance, Houston Peace and Justice Center, Houston Non-Violent Action, Veterans for Peace, KPFT, and other peace activists, and we hope you can come!

When:

Mon. Dec. 31 (obviously)
6 PM until ???
Our parties don't stop at midnight.

Come early, or come late, or stay all evening. Spend the night if you think you might drink too much to drive home. Please have a dedicated driver. We want you to be safe.

Bring:

* Yourself, your smile, a spouse or significant other or friend
* Children are welcome.
* Something to eat or drink if you wish (not required), or
a musical instrument, or a song to sing, or a story to tell.
* But your smile is the most important thing to bring.
* We'll have a table where you can leave literature on your favorite candidate, issue, or upcoming event, so bring that, too.

Optional:

If there's enough interest, we may see who's interested in forming a "choir" to sing a song about impeachment and/or peace in public places, similar to the flashmob in Melbourne who called on their fellow Australians to "Vote the Bastards Out" (which they did, a few weeks ago) -- see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vziDROl_MJo for a short video!
