Protest at Nancy Pelosi's visit to Houston

Event Description:

Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the US House of Representatives, is coming to Houston to speak.

Houstonians who do not appreciate her support of the war and empire machine want to remind her that she's supposed to represent the people of the US, not the lobbyists of the military-industrial-torture-prison-insurance complex.

Join us on the sidewalks outside the Wortham Theater with signs asking Pelosi to:

* End the Iraq and Afghanistan occupation, and provide humanitarian aid, not bombs.

* Stop the no-strings-attached military aid to Israel that supports the siege of Gaza, the apartheid wall, oppression of Palestinians, and repeated serious violations of international law.

* Support prosecution of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield, and other war criminals.

* Stop funding of the US terrorist training facility -- the School of the Americas/WHINSEC.

* Apologize for allowing torture to continue for so long and for obstructing impeachment of Bush and Cheney.

* Provide funds for closing Guantanamo.

* Support real health care reform -- SINGLE PAYER universal health care - HR 676.
