New web site and e-mail lists
In case you missed the earlier announcements, our
new web site is at http://paa-tx.org/ Please
check it out and let us know what you think.
We haven't moved everything over yet from our old
web site (links to other calendars, text of
resolutions/issues, downloads, and links to other
organizations). Therefore, in the meantime, we
still have our old web site at
http://progressiveactionalliance.org/ . There's
a link near the top of the home page there to our
new web site.
We've moved everyone from our old announcements
list to our new one, and we did the same for our
general discussion list. We also have additional
new discussion lists and forums (on our new web
site) for people who want to keep up with certain
topics but who may not want to get mail on every
topic.
The new e-mail lists include Military
Recruiting/Truth-in-recruiting, Department of
Peace, Election Reform/verifiable voting, Empire
Building/Iraq/globalization,
Environment/sustainability/resource depletion/
peak oil, Houston Social Forum, Impeach Bush and
Cheney, and Media Reform.
The new e-mail lists, and the corresponding
forums for each one, are listed at
http://www.paa-tx.org/forum . You can get more
details on each list, and/or sign up for them, by
clicking on the subscribe/unsubscribe links there.

Oct 8: Voter Outreach to stop amendment 2 (Saturday)
Saturday night, join me and others who want to
preserve our Texas Bill of Rights and keep
discrimination out of our state constitution, by
educating folks on the marriage bigotry amendment
(#2 on the ballot in Nov.).
The No Nonsense in November campaign (see
www.nononsenseinNovember.com ) is organizing a
large voter outreach effort in gay bars, where
permission of the owners has already been
obtained, Saturday night. We'll be distributing
literature on amendment 2 and registering people
to vote, from 8 PM until 2 AM. We have people
lined up for ten bars in Houston, plus others in
other Texas cities, but we still need a few more
volunteers.
If you can help for part of the time Saturday
night at one of the bars, contact one of the
following Houston coordinators for this effort:
John Grothues - 713-516-6728
John G. Ibanez 713-516-7047

fiasco.
