RUNOFF ELECTIONS, Houston City Council

Dec 8 2007 - 7:00am
Dec 8 2007 - 7:00pm

Event Description:

In races for three, term-limited Houston City Council seats, no candidate got a majority of the votes in the general elections that concluded November 6. Since we do not use Instant Runoff Voting, this means that a bunch of extra money must be spent on a special runoff election. Early voting runs from Nov 28 through Dec 4. The main date to know is Saturday, DECEMBER 8, when most people will vote. NOW is the time (if you haven't already) to contact your favorite candidate who's in the runoff and volunteer to help that person. Your efforts can really make a difference in an election where the voter turnout is likely to be extremely low!

Well, very few people will vote, for sure. IN THIS ELECTION, YOUR VOTE WILL COUNT MORE THAN USUAL!

The URL below will take you to a Houston Chronicle written just after the November 6 elections.

(I like Jolanda for At-large 5, and Wanda for District D. I don't know about District E. --Art)
